Kids Yoga

Children live in a world of social peer pressure, heavy school loads, busy parents, a competitive environment and stressful situations.

These pressures may seem “trivial” to us but to children, they are causes of anxiety and distress.

For the most part, children do not have the tools necessary to deal with these stressful situations and feel lost.

Yoga provides children with tools to calm themselves, build their inner strength and confidence, cope with stress in their lives and enables them to connect to their inner joy and love.

Practicing yoga at an early age encourages and develops self-confidence and body awareness since yoga combines physical activity that is non-competitive with breathing, concentration and focusing exercises that provide and sense of calmness and inner peace.

Kids yoga classes emphasize important educational values of cooperation and compassion that empower children, strengthen their self-esteem and teach them to see the good in one another.

The Benefits of Yoga for Children:

* improves flexibility, stability, focus and balance

* strengthens the body and improves coordination

* improves concentration, awareness and inner focus

* improves self-confidence

When the ancient yogis developed the different yoga poses thousands of years ago, they lived in nature and were inspired by the animals, plants and forces of nature that surrounded them.

They tried to imitate nature by practicing these different poses.

When children practice yoga poses, they connect to the essence of the pose and experience it in themselves.
(For example: the stability and power of the mountain, the deep roots and strong trunk of the tree, the strength and power of the lion, the grace of the swan, the playfulness and friendliness of the dog, the smoothness of the snake and so on).

When children practice yoga they exercise, play, connect to their inner self and develop a deep and positive relationship with the universe, nature and their environment.

Yoga brings to the surface the inner light which exists in every child.

Practicing yoga from an early age enhances physical and mental strength and provides children with a sense of confidence, calmness, inner peace, compassion, self-love and important tools to enable them to face the challenges of life.
